Pancake Day.

Today is Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday as it is properly known. This is a tradition that holds strong in our home. Homemade pancakes, not for breakfast, but for dinner. I do like tradition, and who can complain about eating yummy pancakes covered in strawberries, on new Old Town Blue plates? In my case, hold the icing sugar and maple syrup!

I got this new fangled pancake mold to shape them into hearts. I had no idea there was such a thing, and now I'm going to have to make pancakes more often! I usually don't buy one-use kitchen gadgets like this, but it's inexpensive, small, and makes heart shaped pancakes! How could I resist?

Sock Monkeys.

I love sock monkeys. Sock monkeys of all shapes and sizes and colours! I don't know what it is about them, but they are great. I've been trying to get my hands on some Rockford Red Heel socks to make a monkey of my very own, but I haven't found anything in person just yet.

I think these monkeys are even more special when they come from a good friend.

And even better when they're handmade with you in mind, and one of a kind. Oh, and pink. I am a big fan of pink monkeys.

Slippers..

And hats are nice too.

And little Santa monkeys for the Christmas obsessed bunch.

Yes, sock monkeys are a wonderful thing!

Back at it.

I'm back, and of course have some new projects to share.

I recently found some polar fleece fabric in super cute prints. It's rare that I find polar fleece that I like, so when I do I tend to buy way too much. It's the only chinchilla safe fabric (it doesn't give off threads like other fabrics do, and chinchillas chew everything), so I use it to make hammocks for my girls.

Polka Dots on a pink background. What could be better? Really? You can bet I am hoarding this one.

Forest Friends. Baby bunnies, foxes, racoons, and skunks. Too cute.

Multi-hearts. This one is so bright and cheerful. It's also a subtle attempt at fitting in with the holiday today.

This one is my favourite, probably because of the little monkey, but I ran out of grommets so I'll have to make a trip to the store before I can finish it up.

Lenore with a hammock I made a while ago. I'm not a huge fan of this print, but it was the cutest I could find at the time. It has monkeys on it, so it was the best choice!

These hammocks are so much fun to make up. I'm so happy with how they turned out!

Available in my shop.
